The Champion Carnival is AJPW’s most popular round robin tournament. It was fist held in 1973 with Giant Baba becoming the inaugural winner. Giant Baba also holds the record of the most CC win with 7.
Usually held around March – April last year’s tournament was postponed until September with Zeus defeating Kento to win CC 2020. This year there will only be one block instead of two. Every participant will face each other once and gain 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 if they lose.

The winner of CC will earn a Triple Crown Championship match.
With the Triple Crown Champion, GAORA TV Champion, both World Tag Team Champions and one half of the All Asia Tag Team Champions a victory over any of these men can prove valuable not only for the 2 points but a potential title match in the future.

Participants:
Suwama – Triple Crown Champion. CC 2008 winner.
Zeus – All Asia Tag Team Champion. CC 2020 winner.
Kento Miyahara – World Tag team champion. CC 2019 winner.
Yuma Aoyagi – World Tag Team Champion.
Shuji Ishikawa – GAORA TV Champion. CC 2017 winner.
Jake Lee.
Shotaro Ashino.
Koji Doi.
Kohei Sato.
Shinjiro Otani.

Yoshi Tatsu, Kuma Arashi and Jiro Kuroshio who competed in last year’s Champion Carnival will not be competing this year. Taking their place are Koji Doi, Kohei Sato and Shinjiro Otani, who all will be competing in the Champion Carnival for the first time.
